  • Dear Girl who sat behind me at Barnes and Noble on Valentines day. The way we shared that outlet so well for our laptops and the incredible smile you had when asking to borrow one of my three chairs to put your stuff on made me think we could be amazing together. You were dressed so fantastic and classy, pea coat, black tights and furry high heel boots. Just my style in a woman. Since you left at 8 I'm thinking you were probably going on a date with some loser, but when you figure out how lame he is i think maybe we should talk. The fact that you were reading "boards and wards" tells me that maybe you're studying to be a doctor!?! And since i am poor and in ministry i would like to marry a rich good looking, smiley, nice, person who knows how to share an outlet so well.

  • dear xanga,

here are somethings you may not know about me.
    1. I'm pretty much loving the northeast. It snows everyday. They never close anything. People just drive in the snow. Its freezing. Its just been a real winter, and for some reason thats ok.
    2. I'm sick again! But not a whole lot this time . . . yet. Someone told me that i have the immune system of a 3 month old, but that couldn't be true.
    3. I'm addicted to wanting to buy outdoor gear. hmm.
    4. my car baaarely starts each morning. i'm just waiting for that day when the battery dies. Oh man.
    5. I love donuts.
    6. I'm training for a sprint triathlon, but i haven't started swimming yet
    7. I made some amazing chili last week, and its feeding me this whole week.
    8. I'm hungry for shrimp pasta right now.
    9. I'm going indoor mtn biking again in february.
    10. i think i'm ready to get married . . .sorta. i mean minus the whole buy a ring, be able to support a wife, make decisions with her in mind part. But all the other stuff is like a go!

  • did  i tell you i went skiing at Holiday Valley last weekend?  Awesome.

did i tell you i went indoor mountain biking at Ray's MTB on monday? Awesome.

did i tell you i saw BOLT this week? Awesome

did i tell you i read this today and thought it was right on:

“If you abandon to Jesus and come when He says, “Come,” He will continue to say, “Come” through you; you will go out into life reproducing the echo of Christ’s “Come.” That is the result in every soul who has abandoned and come to Jesus.”

    - Oswald Chambers

    Awesome.

  • i feel about 92% better now.  i should prolly start exercising again.  also, i feel like writing a non rhyming poem.  here goes:

here's to those who never settle.

to those who never give in to the next best option

to all those who don't give up their dream when all others do

here's to those who stick it out to the bitter end

never yielding, never wavering, never capitulating

to the masses, to the common wisdom, to the small-thinking of all those

who've never dreamed, never loved, never sacrificed.

here's to those who fight the odds because its right

not because they think there's a chance they can win

because there's nothing in them that can align with their enemies

because to compromise is to lose.

to change is to betray all that is right

and to surrender is to die

here's to those who never, ever, ever stop fighting.

keep on. keep on.  keep on.

  • i'm really sick.  bronchitis.  and stuck at home.  i came home to vote and am too sick to drive back.  but its worked out ok because mom's taking care of me.  But this is like the most painful cough of all time.  If i die, i gave this life all i had.  If i live, maybe i'll be even more urgent in my goals of changing the world.  we can only hope for either of those outcomes.
